Odessa residents may shoot off fireworks within city limits on residential property on Thursday, July 3, during the hours of 8:00 am and 11:00 pm, and on July 4 and 5, during the hours of 8:00 am and midnight with the following restrictions: 

• No fireworks may be ignited in streets or alleyways.
• Bottle rocket fireworks are prohibited.
• No fireworks may be ignited within 600 feet of a church or school.
• Ignited fireworks may not be thrown from, into, or at a vehicle.

The City of Odessa will have a fireworks display on Thursday, July 3, at Dyer Park. There will be food vendors, a bounce house, and face painting starting at 5:00 pm with fireworks beginning around sunset.
