9th Street Utility Project Begins

The project involves installing a new 12-inch water main to improve water pressure in the southwest area of town and additional areas. In addition, new gravity sewer lines will be installed to redirect sewer flows from upgraded lift stations to the Northwest Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP), alleviating sewer constraints on the southeast side of town.

If service disruptions are necessary, they will be brief and communicated in advance. Traffic control measures will be implemented to ensure the safety of workers as well as pedestrian and vehicular traffic. Access to roads and properties will be maintained as much as possible, although temporary restrictions may be required. This project was publicly bid and award to Kat Excavation and their subcontractor Triple C Underground.

Work is scheduled to begin in July 2025 and will be completed, along with the restoration of any disturbed areas, by the winter. We appreciate your patience as we undertake this important project. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact Darrin Lamb with the City of Odessa at 816-948-8022.
