Constructed by the Rotary Club of Odessa! Both Rocky Roots Trail and Raptor Point Trail offer two miles of trail and over 3 miles of hiking around the Odessa Reservoir. Both are considered wilderness trails and are of "moderate" difficulty, including a few bridges and elevation changes.
- Hiking Poles are optional but recommended based on skill level
- Always check conditions before hiking
- Some areas are not possible during high water
- No restrooms on the trail - toilet located at the Reservoir Fishing Dock/Parking lot on the West end of the Reservoir
- Please respect the wildlife
- Watch for snakes, ticks, poisonous plants etc.
Rocky Roots Trail
- 1 Mile loop around the small lake
- Built by the Odessa Rotary Club in 2024, Rocky Roots Trail is a one-mile loop around the older of the two lakes on the reservoir property. The trail includes views of the small reservoir lake, a waterfall and two gardens for native and pollinator plants. A fishing dock was also installed with the completion of the trail.
Raptor Point Trail
- 1 Mile Trail from (RRT's) Beaver Crossing Bridge to Raptor Point (South Side of large lake)
- In 2025, Odessa Rotary Club opened Raptor Point Trail, which connects to the Rocky Roots Trail on the back side of the reservoir. Trail is a one-mile no-outlet trail requiring a second mile of hiking to return, and includes views of the main reservoir lake, a natural valley titled “Deer Hollow,” and takes hikers close to resident birds of prey, including bald eagles and ospreys. Fishing line disposal tubes have been installed along the trail to help protect the wildlife.
