The deposit is required to cover the last month’s utility bill. Once the final bill has been paid, your deposit will be refunded to you. Interest is paid once a year to you at the rate received by the City for the previous year. It will show on your utility bill as a credit. The deposit required is $300 if you pay for all utilities. In some cases, the landlord pays the water bill. You would then only be required to make a deposit of $190.
